Ghost Town starring Ricky Gervais, Greg Kinnear, Tea Leoni, and Alan Ruck (Rabbit is good, Rabbit is wise) is an oft overlooked gem of a flick I can best describe as the love child of “Ghost Whisperer” and “The Frighteners.” Gervais is a dentist who acquires the ability to commune with the dead after a near-death experience. Kinnear is the recently deceased spouse of Leoni, who wants to break up her new relationship and latches on to Gervais to act as his proxy. Ruck is one of the many other ghosts who hope Gervais can help them wrap up their unfinished business on Earth so that they can move on. It was funny, cerebral, uplifting, and entertaining, and except for a bit of language no worse than what I let slip on occasion could air on network television without a single edit. Check it out if you get the chance.
