There is much more to RetroHack than meets the eye, with more people behind the scenes than you see actively participating as authors on this blog. Most of us have real jobs, so we’re not usually looking for opportunities that expect us to be onsite from 800 to 1700 Monday through Friday. If you want someone sitting across from you at the table, or handing you pretty binders full of boiler-plate, we’re not going to be a good fit for you. But if you want someone who can ask the right questions, determine the problem, and provide the solution, and you can deal with it happening after hours, get in touch.
Most of the services we offer involve us working remotely, well before or after ‘normal’ business hours, where nights and weekends are the norm. We can collaborate with you using web technologies, serve in an advisory capacity on teleconferences, or exchange ideas and render opinions through email.
It’s a non-traditional approach, and it’s not for everyone. But we have had great success working with software development companies, government agencies, a major university, an international research institute, a financial services provider, and other businesses, solving problems and delivering value…with no T&E involved. And by dealing directly with us, we make more money while you spend even less…there’s no recruiter mark-up to deal with either.
Many of our clients find exceptional value in just being able to discuss plans, challenges, ideas, and opportunities with one of our experts to get a second opinion, another perspective, or the inside track. Others call on us when something goes bump in the night and they are over their heads.
All work performed is done on a W2 basis, and net 15. If you cannot deal with that, we also can work with a recruiting company we use regularly, that can invoice you. It will cost you a little more, but it still costs less than being down for days, or calling in one of the other consulting companies who’ll spend a week just getting to know you, while charging you by the hour.
