So apparently a new Easter egg has been revealed in Windows 7, called “GodMode.” Ina Fried over at CNET has the skinny on this, but the short of it is this. By creating a directory and giving it a special name, you will get a folder chock-full of nerdy goodness. The 276 shortcuts are spread across 45 categories, and includes options found in Control Panel applets, msconfig shortcuts, various administrative tools, and even some of the oldies but goodies from TweakUI. Heck, some of them come from I don’t know where, and a couple of them I haven’t even heard of!

Here is how you set this up.

  1. Create a new folder pretty much anywhere you want to. I used my Desktop.
  2. Rename the folder to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  3. Profit

There are so many different shortcuts in that folder, I cannot even show you the collapsed categories in a single image, but since it will take less time for you to set this up yourself than to read the post, go for it and let me know what you think.
