Well Akismet does a GREAT job of catching SPAM before it gets to me, but I I got an interesting comment in the ol’ SPAM bucket this morning that I just had to share. Someone left a brief comment on one of my posts that, at first glance, had me smiling.
In case the font is too small, it says…
"Wow! Thank you! I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my blog?"
Appeals to the ego are very subtle, and I nearly hit approve just because it was a ‘nice’ comment. Fortunately, I read a little further, and then looked at it in context. The comment was left on this post…
I got a shiny new iPod Touch for Christmas! Just for kicks I installed the free wp2 app, so here’s a little post to see how it does. My fingers are just a little too big to do this regularly though.
Not exactly epic content, is it? So while they may be getting a little more clever about making their SPAM look like a comment worth approving, this constitutes a FAIL. But hey, at least my WP-Ban list got a new addition, and you get to see another spiffy new vid. Enjoy!
